What if it rains?  Will my experience still go ahead?

Alpacas are hardy animals and aren’t put off  by bad weather. We will not cancel any experience unless the weather is deemed unsafe, in which case we will contact you the day before and an alternative date will be offered.

What should I wear?

As the experience takes place on farmland, it is recommended that trousers be worn rather than shorts or skirts. Try not to wear loose clothing which may flap around and startle the animals. Comfortable footwear is a must as the walk will be on uneven surfaces and rough terrain. In wet weather, walking boots or wellies are advised. Please do not bring umbrellas.

Can I bring a pushchair?

Due to the rough ground,  the walks are unsuitable for pushchairs.

Do I have to be fit?

Whilst the walk is not particularly difficult, a minimum fitness level is needed to walk on uneven ground for around 30 minutes. Those with walking difficulties may feel that the family picnic sessions are a better option as no walking is required.

My child is nervous/shy. Will they have help?

Our staff are experienced with customers and will be on hand to help ease people in gently if they are a little nervous at first. They will show you how gentle the alpacas are and assist with safe handling and petting and help everyone to engage in a way that they are comfortable.

Are your experiences wheelchair friendly?

The walks are unsuitable for wheelchairs, but the family picnic sessions are ideal for wheelchair users to get fully involved. We also have accessible toilets.

Can I bring my dog?

Unfortunately we cannot allow any dogs on the premises at all.

Can I arrive early?

We have limited space so please only arrive 5 minutes before your start time.  We are on private farmland (no animals) so visits are on a booking only basis at the time specified on your booking.

Its my birthday/special occasion

Please email us as we are able to offer private sessions too

Do you allow refunds or date changes?

We do not offer refunds or date changes under any circumstances  unless we feel its unsafe to operate our services. The reason for this is that unlike bigger businesses, we run small group sessions and only sell very limited tickets per session. Please ensure you can attend the date you book for.

You may sell or gift your ticket to someone else.

Other important things to note…

Now it is not a legal requirement to isolate with covid, we do not allow cancellations or date changes due to a positive test. You are welcome to gift the ticket to someone else as name changes are permitted.

We do not provide the picnic so please bring your favourite foods !

The alpacas, although confident, are easily startled. All of the experiences work best if a gentle, calm approach is adopted.

Whilst our alpacas are relatively tame, please do not forget that they are still animals and are capable of causing injury so please be mindful of this and listen closely to our health and safety briefing at the start of your experience. Our staff will assist you and your children with engaging with the animals, but please be aware that they are not responsible for your childrens safety.  Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult.

We reserve the right to refuse admission to anyone acting in a way that causes distress to our animals or customers.
